Natural Gas
Ohio has mostly deregulated natural gas and electric utilities meaning you can purchase natural gas and electricity using the same transmission lines but from alternative providers to keep the costs competitive. This means you can lock in a lower cost for your gas and electric but these companies often default to high rates after your contract ends. We recommend setting a calendar reminder and locking in the best rate when or prior to your contract ending.
Natural gas -- I have Columbia gas and locked in my natural gas rate at $0.479/ccf with AEP starting 12/7/23 for 12 months. This option includes a fixed rate, no monthly fee, and no termination fee
12/7/23 It looks like the lowest cost is $3.69 per mcf for Dominion customers with AEP. This option includes a fixed rate, no monthly fee, and no termination fee
Natural Gas -- Here's how to check your options
